BIO

Isabella Brown graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University in June 2023 with a BA in Biological Sciences, focused on Molecular Genetics and Genomics, and with Honors for English Creative Writing, focused on Poetry. She was also an undergraduate Commencement Speaker in 2023. For this piece, Isabella was awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Grant and was a finalist for the Fletcher Undergraduate Research Grant Prize. She is currently working as a Research Technologist with the Wang Lab in Molecular Biosciences at Northwestern. Starting in Fall 2024, she will be attending the University of Pennsylvania as the Basser Center Scholarship Recipient for a master’s degree in Genetic Counseling. Isabella is originally from the Greater St. Louis area and, besides biology and poetry, loves cooking and playing the trumpet with mariachis.
